Hallelujah Moment from North Carolina:
Keep Them in Your Fold
One leader of a children's mission club called and asked to bring a group of elementary youngsters to work at the Mission Response Center. I explained that wouldn't be possible because of our age limit restrictions. She agreed to bring the youngsters for a tour instead.
The tour was interesting since there were a lot of energetic kids. One was hopping (literally) while I was guiding them around the facility and the others soon caught the spirit, and the Spirit caught me and I was hopping along with them, hopping and talking about our mission at the Response Center.
At the tour’s end, the leader asked if there was anything her kids could do. I thought for a moment and said we needed baby items that we could send to Armenia.
I didn't think much more of the matter until about two months later when a church bus rolled up to the Center. Out came this troop of children, each carrying a box of baby diapers, or baby clothes, or baby toys‑‑all for Armenia.
Other than surprise, my next thought was, "Please, God, keep them in your fold. May they never depart from your path."
The Mission Response Center is a new partnership between the Western Carolina Conference and the General Board of Global Ministries. Dwaine Morgan, the director, is a United Methodist Church and Community Worker assigned by the mission board. See below to support his work through the Advance for Christ and His Church.
