Experience:  Participants will gain a new appreciation of the Nez Perce Indians and will learn how to speak some of the Nez Perce Indian language.  Presentations by Nez Perce Indians will deal with the Lewis and Clark “Journey of Discovery” from the Nez Indian point of view.  Participants will come to understand the Nez Perce humor and “truth” as taught through storytelling, drama and whimsical pantomime.  A visit to the canyon of the Imnaha River and walks into the “Eagle Cap Wilderness Area” will give participants lasting memories of beautiful Oregon and the beautiful Nez Perce Indians.

Mission service:  Participants will paint cabins, do light carpentry or, for those more vigorous participants, build trails.

Rooms:  Participants can be housed in single or double cabins. Some cabins have shared baths but most cabins use a common shower house.  The camp does not have paved walkways but the paths are quite smooth.

First meal:  Dinner on August 25, 2002

Last meal:  Breakfast on August 31, 2002

Transportation:  Rental cars are available at the Boise, Idaho airport which is a 4 ˝ hour drive to the site, or at the Portland airport which is a 7 hour drive to Camp Wallowa Lake.  Detailed driving directions will be provided upon registration.
