Experience:  By the end of the event, participants will have learned about the agriculture problems faced by missionaries in Third World countries and the solutions available from ECHO.  A swamp buggy tour of the Babcock Ranch will help participants learn about the challenges encountered on this farm and cattle ranch in this SW Florida’s monsoon climate.  A visit to the Edison-Ford Homes and Gardens is planned.  Participants should be able to walk on uneven surfaces at the farm and at the tour sites with the ability to walk approximately one mile at a leisurely pace.

Mission service:  Participants will have the opportunity to pack seeds for distribution to the mission areas of the world they studies about or they can work in the gardens.

Rooms:  Double occupancy rooms with private baths at the nearby Comfort Inn.  Swimming pool at the motel.  Additional nights either before or after the event are available at the reduced rate by prior arrangement.  Continental breakfasts are served at the hotel each morning.  Lunch and dinner provided at ECHO, catered at tour site or at tour site restaurant.

First meal:  A Continental breakfast at the hotel on Tuesday, October 8 [participants may purchase a full breakfast at the nearby Cracker Barrel Restaurant or Waffle House]

Last meal:  A Continental breakfast at the hotel on Friday, October 12, before departing

Transportation: For those traveling by air, please use SW Regional International Airport  There is no scheduled shuttle service provided by ECHO but participants can use a taxi, limo or rental car service available at the airport.  It is not recommended to fly into Miami, Tampa or Orlando [though fares are often cheaper] unless you plan to rent a car.  Bus service from these locations to Ft. Meyers is very difficult.  Good driving directions will be sent to you with your registration confirmation.
