Individual Volunteer Orientation
at
Heifer International in Perryville, Arkansas
August 12-14, 2005

On August 12-14, 2005, a group of 12 new applicants for the GBGM Individual Volunteer program met for training at the Heifer International ranch in Perryville, Arkansas. They came from Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, Arkansas, California and Nebraska for the required training weekend prior to being placed in national and international sites. There was vast diversity in this group in age, ethnicity and education, but all had the common trait of the need to serve. Some already have placements in Cameroon, Kenya, Tanzania, Honduras, Chile, and Belize while the others were just exploring the various site opportunities. The Heifer ranch was a great location in which to meet and learn. All the participants left with new friends, insights on possibilities, and the anticipation of future placements.
