Gift to Mission Card Image by: Women's Division

The new Gift to Mission Card, a swirling shell, reminds one of Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s book, Gifts From the Sea:

The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. To dig for treasures shows not only impatience and greed, but lack of faith. Patience, patience, patience, is what the sea teaches. Patience and faith. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach—waiting for a gift from the sea.

Inside the card, the message reads, “To thank you for who you are and what you do, a gift to mission has been given in your honor through United Methodist Women.”

The new cards can be ordered through your district treasurer. They cost $5.00 each. All but a small percentage of that cost goes to the total program of mission of United Methodist Women.
