Reflections on Organ Donation
The human body is an amazing structure. Just
when we think we have learnt everything there is
to know about it a fresh new discovery comes
along that catches everyone by surprise. And
then there is the brain, that intricate computer
which no one has fully understood. We take our
bodies for granted but as St. Paul wrote in
1Corinthians 6:19 “your body is the temple of
the Holy Spirit”. We have to treat it with
dignity, respect and love. We have
been “fearfully and wonderfully made.”

United Methodist Women Celebrate 135 Years at General Conference
135 years of mission with women, children and
youth was the focus of the speech by United
Methodist Women’s Division president, Genie Bank,
before General Conference on Monday morning.
The speech before the legislative body preceded a
video made for the anniversary.

Eunice Mathews – A Life, A Legacy
PITTSBURGH (UMNS)-- It's not every day that the
United Methodist Church gets to honor one of its
leading lights before her years of history-
making
have passed into memory.
Yet, on April 29 the top legislative body of the
denomination paid tribute to Eunice Jones
Mathews-
-a living legend in the church's history of
mission. The 998 delegates to General Conference
and hundreds of visitors honored her 90th
birthday with a "Happy Birthday" chorus and a
reception at the David L. Lawrence Convention
Center.
