The Women’s Division urges United Methodist Women to join the Children’s Sabbath National Observance.
God’s Shalom is indeed needed among our nation’s children.
- 10 million of whom have no health insurance
- 9 out of 10 of whom are children of working parents
Providing adequate health care, immunizations, nutrition, and prenatal care can make God’s shalom of wholeness and healing known.
This Children’s Sabbath focuses on the health and wholeness of children. Kits for this observance contain worship resources, lesson plans for all ages, and child health advocacy ideas for the local unit and/or congregation. The kits are being sent to all Conference Mission Coordinators for Spiritual Growth and to all Conference Mission Coordinators for Social Action to promote the Children’s Sabbath as a worship opportunity that inspires advocacy for children. This is an excellent resource to be used in program planning to implement the Campaign for Children and lift up the needs of children.
