Some examples:

Dear Lord,  Please give the leaders creativity, ingenuity, and a desire to resolve conflict peacefully.  Please keep all people free from war, terrorism, violence of all kinds.  Help us to rise above our weak, violent tendencies so that you may bring your kingdom here are earth.  Amen.

Dear President Bush,  I pray that you will not cause the hatred, the suffering and the loss of life for real people that war brings to both sides.  By attacking another nation, you may provoke so much hatred that the USA will have guerilla war on our own soil that could last years and years.

Dear God, we your children, do not understand all that is happening in our world.  We pray that through your Divine Intervention, you can save us and all peoples from total destruction.  Help us to live together and learn to love each other regardless of our differences in our faiths.  We sincerely believe that you love all of us.  Bring us together in love to live together in peace.  To thine be the glory.  In his name.  Amen.

Lord, Let there be peace on earth.  Do not let America become an aggressor nation.  We must continue to provide refuge to the persecuted peoples from around the world -- a tradition begun in 1620.  Amen.

We pray for liberating freedom and the uncertainty, fear and anxiety that pervades our world.  We pray for reconciling peace that this world so desperately needs.  We pray for the decline of conflict and war that separates us.  We pray for the healing of nations, peoples, that comes from God who loves all humankind.  Amen.

I have an only son in Kuwait.  President Bush does not feel the pain and fear of losing a pending loved one.  He is playing God by sending young troops out to die for a selfish cause.  Is this revelation?  Are these the end times?  God, help us all, for we have forgotten the real reason why we are here.  We are here to procreate and not to take lives.  I can feel my son's fear over in a land that is not familiar with and does not welcome him.

Dear heavenly Father, As a member of your earthly family, I urgently pray for Peace with Iraq, knowing that you love your children in Iraq, as you love me.  Father, please lead President Bush to rethink his war policy and back off from attacking Iraq.

Dear Father, Guide and direct our leaders as we face these troubled times.  In Christ's Holy Name...

We know you as a Giving God, but today, Lord, we ask you to be a Taking God.  Take away our unreasonable fears that drive us toward a false security at any cost.  Take away our greed and selfishness that lead to hoarding and using more than our share.  Take away all that is not like you, and there shall be peace.  Amen.

Dear President, We are praying for you and for all the service people and families.  Amen.

May God bless America.  We are truly praying for peace for the World.  Although there is war, our prayers for our leaders and service men will continue.  May God guide each and everyone of them.

Oh God, Please turn our beloved country from this path of terrible consequences.

Dear God,  Thank you for giving me the strength each day to do my best as a soldier.  I am wiling to help provide peace for all human kind in this world you created forevermore.  God says, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you."  Isaiah 43:5.

May God keep you safe as you protect our way of life and help others to freedom and the ability to be themselves.   May peace come quickly with dignity for all.

Lord, We pray for your peace to be in the hearts of our world leaders and guide them to end the pain and suffering that war causes.  Be with us and bring us peace.

Dear Jesus, Please give us the peace only you can provide.  Wrap you loving arms around all the pain in this world.  Be with our President to make the right decisions.
