Mission Update
What Can My Undesignated Pledge to Mission
Buy?
What does $1 mean to you? A cup of coffee, a gourmet cookie, part of a tall
latte, or change for the parking meter? Something small and possibly
non-essential? Imagine giving up that treat so that someone else may benefit.
$1 might provide:
a box of hypodermic needles for a clinic
vaccine to immunize six children for DPT
˝ pound of pea seeds
2 packages of lettuce seeds
2 bottles of cholroquine syrup to treat children with malaria
a box of dustless chalk for a school
$2 might provide:
a day of childcare for one child in many countries
a day’s food for a patient in a substance-abuse residence in Russia
$5-$10 might provide:
an educational field trip for one child in the United States
$20-$50 can provide:
- $20 - a day’s food for ten patients in a substance-abuse residence in
Russia

the United States

$80, $120, or $280 can provide micro-credit loans for a woman to begin a
business. Examples:
In Uganda, with 150 chickens, she can sell eggs and chicken manure,
accumulate savings, and provide a better life for her children.
In Mexico, a woman can purchase supplies to start a candle-making
business.
In Guatemala, a woman can set up a seamstress or tailoring business.
$100 – $350 can provide:

$125 – a week at camp for 1 child in the U.S.

Will you forego a "treat" for yourself each week and increase your Pledge to
Mission by that amount? Imagine the gratitude of one who benefits from your
undesignated giving! Add an additional coin to your World Thank Offering box in
gratitude that you can have access to non-essentials.
