From Consumerism to Caring

A new packet, "From Consumerism to Caring," provides at least 25 ways we can participate in creating a new kind of economy that benefits all. The packet, for the individual and the community, includes ideas like how to organize a support network for unemployed people in the church; advocacy tips for unemployment insurance policies; concrete ways to stop purchasing from sweat shops; "how-tos" for using food grown by local farmers; ideas for using fair trade products; ways to respond to the free trade area of the Americas; tips for getting a living wage for people in your town; and many other ideas.
