Mission Update
Regional Missionaries Coming to Your School
of Christian Mission or Town
Where does Undesignated Giving go? How is it spent? This summer, you may have a first-hand chance to learn, hear and see how your support through Undesignated Giving has helped regional missionaries and hundreds of others who the missionaries have trained, worked with, and taught about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Between July 11 and August 20, ten Regional Missionaries assigned to the Women's Division Committee on International Ministries come to 2003 Schools of Christian Mission, towns, churches or living rooms.
In 2000, the Women's Division negotiated with the General Board of Global Ministries to assign 10 persons to assist and strengthen relationships and programs with lay women and youth from Methodist, United Methodist, ecumenical and other partners internationally. Through leadership developments workshops, counseling, visitations, and introduction of innovative programs, these missionaries will share their 2 ½ year experiences and bring the world closer to you. Ten of the best people trained and supported by your Undesignated Dollars (via scholarships, International Persons in Mission support or program support) were selected to pilot this new category of mission personnel.
Our regional missionaries are in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and Central and South America.
At the end of their third year of service, each missionary must itinerate in the United States where their support is raised. It will be a time for personal learning for United Methodist Women as each regional missionary shares their personal and faith journey.
