Meet the Women's Division and United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women is a 1 million member organization that’s purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. Members raise more than $20 million a year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and more than 100 countries around the world.
The Women's Division is the official policy-making body of United Methodist Women. The division is actively engaged in fulfilling the mission of Christ and the Church and interpreting the purpose of United Methodist Women. The division follows its mandate from The Discipline of the United Methodist Church to "be an advocate for the oppressed and dispossessed with special attention to the needs of women and children; to work to build a supportive community among women; and to engage in activities that foster growth in the Christian faith, mission education and Christian social involvement."

The Purpose of United Methodist Women
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose Purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
