The history of United Methodist Women and its predecessor organizations does not exist in a single volume but in Many. This web site lists ten outstanding books about the programs, outreach, and personalities of the millions of women who have been involved in ministries with women, children and youth for more than a century. These titles, written by women, cover subjects ranging from the earliest women's missionary societies to the history of the Woman's Division of Christian Service (1940-1968.)

The individual books, listed at right, are available to read online; the entire collection entitled
Women's Division: Ten Best Books on the History of United Methodist Women
are available on CD-rom through the General Board of Global Ministries online store. Visit
