Undesignated gifts
represent a source of Women's
Division budget each year; funds are
used for the total program of mission. Ways
to participate in Undesignated Giving:
Pledge to Mission An individual member's pledge to mission is the amount that she decides is her share of the local unit's total budget. A unit Pledge to Mission is the portion of its budget which is set as a goal to send through district and conference treasurers to the Women's Division for support of mission programs beyond its own community. The decision about the amount to be pledged is the responsibility of the unit. The remainder of the unit's funds are used for administration and membership development [A&MD] expenses and for mission locally.
Each conference organization of United Methodist Women decides the portion of pledge funds from local units which must be kept within the conference for district and conference A&MD expenses. The remainder of these funds is sent to the Women's Division as the conference Pledge to Mission.
The full amount raised through the following undesignated channels is also sent to the Women's Division.
Special
Mission Recognition An individual or a unit may make a gift for mission in honor of any person in amounts of $35, $50, $100, $200, $500, $1,000 or $2,000. For each gift, a certificate and a gold pin [optional] are provided for the honoree.
