Would your United Methodist Women's unit, district, conference, or jurisdiction like to have a home page on the World Wide Web? Or perhaps you already have space on a Web server but are paying more for it than you would like to?
The Women's Division, General Board of Global Ministries is offering free space on its Web server to the United Methodist Women's organizations named above. You will receive an account with 5 megabytes of storage space that you may access via FTP. You can upload and serve as many Web pages from that account as your 5 megabyte quota will accommodate.
Any group that takes advantage of this offer is responsible for making and maintaining their own Web pages. We can provide limited technical assistance and referrals to sources of help.
If you use our Web server to publish your Web pages, we ask that you include information on your Web pages about how you are fulfilling the Purpose of United Methodist Women and to acknowledge that the space for your pages has been provided as a courtesy of the Women's Division, General Board of Global Ministries. The sites are to represent the organization of United Method ist Women which sponsors it in terms of content; the pages are to be in keeping with the Purpose of United Methodist Women; they are not to be used as "personal webpages" for an individual.

One of the ways that you can use your web space is to share ideas and program material on your web pages. What books in the Reading Program have you found to be informative or inspiring? Review the book for all to see. Do you have original program material that someone in your group has prepared for one of the three mission studies? Post it on your website. Let other United Methodist Women have the opportunity to gain from your experiences.
Are there members in your United Methodist Women's organization that have e-mail addresses? Post them on the web under a "who to contact page." Please take care about posting home phone numbers and home addresses, however. Anyone who has access to the web can see your pages. Though it is unlikely that anything bad would come as a result of posting home phone numbers and addresses, it is best to be on the safer side.
One use of e-mail contacts is that you could create a "group mailing list" of a number of women who would like to be writing to each other about United Methodist Women. For example, officer counterparts might want to talk with each other via the Internet. Or how about a group study by the Internet! If you try this and it works, post on your web page about your experience and tell Kelly Martini at kmartini@gbgm-umc.org also.
