  • From the Editor: Our Grandmothers United Methodist Women November Response Magazine
Each time I hear the stories of foremothers willing to give precious time and pennies to send the first women missionaries to Asia and Africa, when I study the lives of deaconesses who courageously bucked societal -- and sometimes church -- norms to reach out to children in need, and when I discover some new chapter in our social-action history as women organized for mission, I thank God for United Methodist Women and renew my commitment to be an active member and promoter of this great organization.
