Part 2 of The Bible: The Book that Bridges the Millennia

Why Do We Need to Look at Interpretation?

It' s important in order in order to understand the teachings of the Bible!

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.." (2 Timothy 3:16, NSRV)

Interpretation refers to the ways we understand the Bible.

Before we delve into Interpretation, remember this!

Scripture for Jesus and the New Testament writers meant the Hebrew Scriptures--the Old Testament!

The church used Scripture in a variety of ways. Look at the verse above that's from 2 Timonthy.

The Bible was written by many different people, at different times!

So what was the early church like? Why did they put the Bible in writing? And what does this have to do with interpretation?

Let's move on and see.
