A Brighter Future
for Children and Youth

"Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread will give a stone?"

Matthew 7:

A Brighter Future for Children and Youth centers around the needs of children and youth in the areas of abuse andviolence prevention and treatment. This special emphasis will fund new and on-going ministries that provide direct, comprehensive services to children and youth between the ages of 5 and 18 years of age.

Every day in the United States:
100,000

children are homeless

8,189
children are reported abused or neglected
135,000
children bring guns to school.

Jesus said to them: "Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs...And he took them up in his arms, laid his hands on them, and blessed them."

Mark 10:14-16

Through the Pledge to Mission and other undesignated giving, United Methodist Women continually provides and supports ministries with children and youth in the United States and around the world. A Brighter Future for Children and Youth allows women to provide additional funds for special programs and projects. All monies from this special emphasis will be distributed so that children and youth around the world can experience a future of hope and promise.
