New Resources
The Healthy Homes, Healthy Families Kit (HFK) Program Booklet
The HFK presents United Methodists and others with a
new opportunity to be involved in material resources
ministry. HFK is an infection control and basic care kit
containing 22 essential supplies needed to care for an
ailing loved one in the home and prevent the spread of
infection. The items in the HFK may not be easily accessible
or affordable to many families who need them. The
kit is designed to bring both economic and physical relief
to the patient and patient's family. Like the Medicine
Box, an HFK consists of basic medicines and supplies
contributed by individuals, groups, or congregations,
which IMA (Interchurch Medical Assistance) supplements
with additional medicines and health supplies.
An essential part of a congregation's contribution is
$100.00 to Advance #982315-1, which helps cover the costs
of additional supplies and shipping. Instructions for
assembling an HFK are available free
for postage and handling from the Service Center, (800)
305-9857, Stock #5552.
