Thank You Letters from Afghan Refugees at The Nazoo Anna Education Center

Just before Christmas, December 2002, students at Nazoo Anna Education Center in Peshawar, Pakistan, sent David Sadoo, UMCOR staff, thank you letters for UMCOR school and health kits that they had received (see photo, right). Some of their letters are reproduced below on this page. The children's words have been transcribed without correction. How are you. I am fine and wish you the best of luck. And first I want to introduce myself.

My name is Laila and my father name is M. Qaseem. I have two brothers and three sisters. My date of birth is 22nd June. My father is dead and my mother is house wife. I am student of Nazoo Anna girls high school in class 10th.

And now I want to write you that thank you so much for help and now our principle dividing your help to us. And we wish that you continue your help for us because our condition of living is little good. At last I want to congratulate you by 25th December:-

My name is Abeda, I have five brothers and no sister, my father is jobless and my mother is a teacher, I live in Peashwer Pakistan. i'm in class 10th Nazoo Anna girls high school. and now we are really thankful from your help did with us and now our principle dividing your help to us. Our school need to your help too much by your help our school is running and we also need to your help because we are here refugi and our life condition is not good and in the end really thankful again and happy Christmas.

My name is Pabwasha rahim. My father name is Shah Mohammad rahim. I have two brothers and three sisters and I am the oldest. We live in Peshawar at Jahangir Abad. I am studying in Nazoo Anna Girls High School at class 11 and I want to complete my Education in this school. I want to be a doctor. My one sister and one brother are also read in this school. Thanks for helping our school and our principle us equipment and we are living in such a bad condition and I hope that you will always make a conection with us.

This school for refugees of course the school has the full filled its responsibility very well and has done much more for as the provide us a good deal of education and this all became possible because of your health. Hello this is Shakila student of class 12 in Nazoo Anna Girls high school. I have four brothers and two sisters. My entire family is properly educated and on work, but just I am student here. I have studied from the beging in this school. I have felt much changes since I have entered this school, at first the school was facing so many difficulties, but by the support of you it became much developed and have provided us the needy implements for which we are always very thankful to you. As you know that the conditions of our country are very poor in this time it is very difficult to get educated and fulfill the needs of life. There fore, we feel the lack of support but this lack and dificency has been fulfilled by our kind well-wishers. For which we are always thankful. Once again thanks!
