Ten Tons of Emergency Kits Donated to UMCOR

Thank you United Methodist Women!

United Methodist Women from across the country participated in hands-on mission work in preparation for Assembly 2002 (April 25-28). They were asked to make school kits, sewing kits, health kits, layettes, and bedding paks which will be given to persons in need around the world. Following are statistics for the material resources for mission that participants brought to the quadrennial gathering in Philadelphia:

• 1546 School Kits.
• 1216 Sewing Kits.
• 9669 Health Kits.
• 455 Layettes.
• 120 Bedding Paks.

The total weight of material resources from Assembly was 21,284 pounds, which includes extra supplies given for health, school and layettes.
