The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), working with the Methodist Church of Montserrat provided tents, two shipments of food -- beans, rice, vegetables, cereals and cooking oil, and emergency grants for farming and the construction of temporary housing. UMCOR also gave the Methodist Church a grant to assist the island's displaced farming community, which resettled on land in Trants provided by the government.
