RICHMOND, Va. (UMNS) -- A warehouse has been set up in Franklin, Va., by the United Methodist Virginia Conference Disaster Response Team to respond to Hurricane Floyd flood damage in the southeastern part of the state.
The Virginia Conference is sharing the facilities with the Salvation Army. Supplies needed include flood buckets, health kits, school kits, bottled water and cash donations.

Volunteers currently are needed for receiving, sorting, and distributing donations at the warehouse; and for cleaning and painting, as well as administrative assistance. Ham radio operators are also needed. To volunteer, contact Frank Jennings at kiumc@cs.com or by calling (252)429-3544.
The Virginia Conference Disaster Response Team will be meeting the week of Sept. 27 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Suffolk.
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is accepting donations for hurricane relief work. Checks can be made to Hurricanes '99, Advance #982460-1 and placed in church collection plates or mailed directly to 475 Riverside Dr., Room 330, New York, NY 10115.
