UMCOR is working with the Methodist Church in Haiti to respond to the people's needs in the midst of its current civil crisis. Please use the PDF or WORD documents on this page to make an insert (right) for your church's Sunday bulletin. Download and print these documents on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper.

Ideas for Use

1. Take a minute for mission! Using the information on the bulletin insert, prepare a mission minute for your congregation this Sunday.

2. Looking for a sermon starter? The themes of hunger, children, civil society, and caring for one another are all included in this insert. You can find other information on UMCOR's response its Haiti Civil Emergency page.

Bulletin Inserts

Two formats are available, PDF and WORD. All of the PDF files are 100K or smaller. The largest WORD files are almost a megabyte.

  • File Download Help: To read and print PDF files, you must have the free Adobe Acrobat® Reader installed on your computer. If you are on a slower online connection and a PDF file is large, try the right-click download technique: With your mouse, try right-clicking on the link (with Macintosh, hold "Control" and click). From the menu that appears, select "save target as," "save object as," or "save link as." Choose the directory on your computer where you want to save the file and then download ("save") it. (This right-click technique does not work with Firefox.)

    Instructions for Adobe Reader

       1. You must have a newer version of the free Adobe Acrobat® Reader to open and print PDF files.

       2. Open the file in Adobe Acrobat® Reader.

       3. Click on the print icon. Select "print as image." If you have selected both copies of the insert with the graphics tool, make sure your printer is set to print "landscape" instead of "portrait" and that the Adobe preview window shows the art with 11" going horizontal. Click on "Expand pages to paper size" if necessary. Click "OK" to print.

       4. Adobe makes available "Printing Tips" for troubleshooting problems.
