Palestinians up against Israeli wall

An 8-meter high concrete wall surrounds the West Bank town of Qalqilya.

Constructed by the Israeli government, the "separation fence" is purportedly designed to deter terrorist attacks, yet Palestinians claim the barrier cuts deep into the West Bank, leaving rich agricultural land and water sources in the hands of the Israelis, thus making any future Palestinian state unviable. At some places the barrier is a fence, at others a high concrete wall.

Listen to Riah Abu El-Assal, the Anglican bishop in Jerusalem, discuss the Israeli-built wall and report that "the best secure borders are reconciled neighbors." 1:18.
