Palestinians are not alone

Matt Robson, a Quaker peace activist from Sheffield, England, and a member of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Program, accompanies Shareef Omar Khaled as the Palestinian farmer drives through his olive trees on the other side of a new Israeli built barrier near the town of Jayyous.

Action by Churches Together (ACT) accompanies churches and church agencies in the middle east as they work for human and social development and an end to violence. Palestinians have been accompanied in recent years by church people and other activists from around the world, including many from right next door in Israel.

Listen to Shareef Omar Khaled describe the impact of the Israeli-built "separation fence" on his tiny town of Jayyous, and the commitment of he and other farmers who "are ready to die but not to live as beggars." 1:38.

Listen to Matt Robson, a British member of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Program, describe how Palestinians farmers, facing the Israeli-built wall, have not given up hope. 2:10.
