"UMCOR Sager Brown urgently needs material resources," says Gwen E. Redding, executive director of this vital United Methodist ministry through the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

At this time, UMCOR Sager Brown has enough volunteers on site to process kits but, it may soon run out of materials. On January 20, the depot shipped a load of health kits to Armenia. Plans are being made to send containers of materials resources to Angola and Afghanistan. Each cargo container can hold 14,000 to 30,000 kits-- valued at $167,000 to $360,000 for each load. In the coming weeks, Sager Brown also will ship health and school kits to Iran, which suffered a devastating earthquake last December.

"United Methodists have been generous in the past; we're so thankful for their contributions," Gwen said, "Now we need help again to replenish our resources-- kits, bulk items, and money for shipping. These donations do so much to help to make a difference in people's lives."

For every kit, or for every 10 items donated, $1.00 is needed to pay for shipping to the designated location. Please make the checks for shipping out to "UMCOR Sager Brown" with the word "shipping" on the memo line. Mail the checks separately from the kits or materials to: UMCOR Sager Brown, P.O. Box 850, 101 Sager Brown Road, Baldwin, LA 70514.
