The UMCOR teams in Macedonia in collaboration with ACT (Action by Churches Together), are rebuilding and reconstructing homes, rehabilitating and dismantling camps, providing mine awareness trainings, and assisting special needs groups, as thousands of refugees return to Kosovo. UMCOR and ACT continue to develop programs which will generate jobs and income to local people, help with the needs of women and children, and support efforts to help Kosovar war victims. Many refugees are still without homes and fear landmines.

American Express, Discover, VISA, MasterCharge - 4151 Bytes ACT and UMCOR are committed to assist people of all ethnic groups in the area. Immigration attorneys and attorneys wishing to be trained in immigration law, are needed to volunteer to serve in immigration clinics established throughout the country by "Justice for Our Neighbors," a new program of UMCOR's refugee area. UMCOR continues to respond to the Kosovar refugee crisis, however, please remember to contribute to refugee camps in Africa which are infested with widespread cholera, malnutrition, overcrowding, and other public health diseases. Your gifts to International Disaster Response, #982450-8 (designated to African refugees) make it possible for UMCOR to respond quickly in critical situations. For further information on refugee resettlement please see the UMCOR website at {http://gbgm-umc.org/global/refugees/resettle.html} or contact UMCOR's refugee office at 212-870-3807, fax: 212-870-3624.
