UMCOR continues to respond to areas of Kansas and Texas that were affected by flooding last year. UMCOR staff conducted training recently for 15 interfaith recovery groups in Texas, and UMCOR disaster volunteers will be working in the Kansas West conference to assist ongoing flood recovery work there. In addition to these efforts, UMCOR is sending an additional financial grant to the Texas conference to assist with rebuilding work. You may join in this ongoing response by giving to Advance #901315-0, Texas Floods. For information on volunteering, call (800) 918-3100.

Following their assessment trip to Colombia, UMCOR disaster consultants report that an international ecumenical group has formed to assist with relief and recovery efforts from the recent earthquake. UMCOR is working with our partners in Colombia to develop avenues for sending and distributing humanitarian resources. Please give to UMCOR's International Disaster Response, #982450-8 and designate your gift Colombia Earthquakes.

The Spirit of Grace ship which left Houston at the end of January will be stopping in Honduras and Nicaragua during the coming days to deliver relief supplies for Hurricane Mitch survivors. UMCOR will continue to send financial gifts, material resources including food and medicine, and volunteers over the next two years. Please continue your generous support of the Churchwide Appeal for Hurricanes 98, #982515-0.

Please remember those who suffer from disaster, war, hunger and poverty in your prayers.
