UMCOR is sending a grant to the United Methodist Church of Sierra Leone which will be used to provide food. The civil strife in that country has caused a critical food shortage. Please join in these relief efforts by giving to UMCOR's Sierra Leone Emergency, #181205-1.

An UMCOR assessment team is traveling to Colombia today. They will meet with our Methodist and ecumenical partners to develop plans for providing food, shelter, water and medical assistance, as well as long-term recovery. Please give to UMCOR's International Disaster Response, #982450-8 and designate your gift Colombia Earthquakes.

Please continue to give to UMCOR's Domestic Disaster Response, Advance #901670-1 to support the strong response being made to survivors of the recent tornadoes in Tennessee and Arkansas.

Interfaith organizations are coordinating recovery efforts in Texas in the wake of last year's flooding. United Methodists are providing strong leadership within these groups. You may join in this response by giving to Advance #901315-0, Texas Floods.

UMCOR continues to respond to survivors of Hurricanes Georges and Mitch in the Caribbean and Central America. UMCOR and Church World Service are working together to send rebuilding teams to Central America, and UMCOR will continue to respond over the coming months and years with financial assistance and material resources. Please give to the Churchwide Appeal for Hurricanes 98, #982515-0.

To find out more about volunteer opportunities, call the UMCOR Volunteer Line, (800) 918-3100.
