The people of North Korea continue to suffer from famine which is compounded by a severe winter. The Korean Christian Federation has requested funds from UMCOR so that they may purchase food, heating fuel, and children's warm winter clothing from China.    Please encourage your congregation to support UMCOR's International Disaster Response, Advance #982450-8 before the end of the year. Funds from this Advance enable UMCOR to respond to disasters such as the recent typhoon and flooding in the Philippines and flooding in Haiti. The requests for assistance far exceed the available funds, yet even small UMCOR grants can make a difference in relief and recovery efforts.
