Thousands are reportedly crossing the border; accurate and reliable figures have been difficult to obtain. UMCOR is assisting its ecumenical partners in providing over 8,000 family shelter kits to new arrivals in Pakistani border cities. Additional plans include providing primary shelter to approximately 50,000 persons. Gifts may be made to UMCOR Advance #901125-3 "Love in the Midst of Tragedy."
A tornado struck College Park, Maryland on Monday. UMCOR sent an assessment team to the Baltimore/Washington Conference. This is only the most recent in a a series of serious natural disasters which have hit Taiwan in the recent past. Your gifts are urgently needed for the International Disaster Response Advance #982450.
