August 22, 2003: Finally humanitarian aid is flowing into Liberia. At this time, Liberians especially need food, water, fuel, shelter and medicine. Recovery will be long-term. Word from our United Methodists in the Philippines is that the provinces of Isabela and Mountain Province are still in a state of calamity. The crops have been greatly devastated by Typhoon Harurut, destroying people’s livelihoods and source of nutrition. Congregations are responding with grocery distributions in their communities.
