Billie
Nowabbi is experienced in interpreting the goals and ministry of the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference both for information and action. She enjoys telling of a special instance of church cooperation and celebration, which occurred in the summer of
1987. Two United Methodist Churches and one African Methodist Episcopal Church in Oklahoma came together for fellowship as Methodist people. A hog was killed, cleaned, and cooked by members of all three churches. Gospel and tribal singing, a pulpit
exchange and a historical review of Methodism in the community gave the event focus and significance.
