Reverend Tyrone D. Gordon was born on December 7, 1956, in Los Angeles. He received the Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bishop College, Dallas, Texas, and graduated
with honors. He received the Master’s of Divinity Degree in 1984 from Perkins School of |

Theology at Southern Methodist University. Tyrone has been married for 13 years to the former Marsha Douglas and they have two beautiful daughters, Lauren and
Allyson.
Reverend Gordon is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and is a member of the Kansas West Conference. He has served the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and Saint Paul United Methodist Church, both in the Little Rock
Annual Conference. In September of 1988, he was appointed as Senior Pastor of Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas in the Kansas West Annual Conference.
Since coming to Saint Mark, growth and renewal can be seen throughout the
congregation. Saint Mark has grown from 350 members in 1988 to well over 1,700 members presently. Saint Mark is considered to be one of the fastest growing African-American congregations in the United Methodist Church. Saint Mark has built a 2.7
million dollar facility which includes a new sanctuary, educational wing, and remodeling of the older facility. A Family Life Center is being planned and should be completed in 1999.
