Sumner/Beulah Charge in Sumner, Illinois. His connectional work has primarily focused upon leadership, disaster relief and new church development. He is
currently working with an appointed team to bring a Comprehensive Plan for New Church Development before the Illinois Great River's Annual Conference in 2000. He chairs the subcommittee on Leadership Development. Shane received Denman Evangelism Award
in 1996 from the Southern Illinois Conference.
Shane graduated from Candler School of Theology at Emory University with honors in 1992. While at Candler, he was awarded the Rollins Scholarship Award for his strong academic work combined with his
effectiveness in pastoral leadership at the St. James-Manchester Charge in Manchester, Georgia. Shane was inducted into the World Evangelism/World Methodist Council "Order of the FLAME" in 1999.
A former history teacher and coach, he holds both
graduate and undergraduate degrees from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in History Education. He has co-written two books and has published several articles. Shane is an Elder in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. He resides in Fairview
Heights with his wife Melissa and two children, Zechariah and Lydia. |
