Creator of all that's good, I pray for my brother-
in-law, an army surgeon in Baghdad, and the
horrors he must see on a daily basis. Protect
him. I pray for all our military, who are mostly
the youth of our country, and their families that
remain here. Comfort them. I pray for those in
Iraq who are suffering. Please relieve them.
And I pray that your peace may come to both
sides, that guns may be put down, and that the
humanity of all may truly be addressed so that we
begin to understand that we're all your children.

Dear God,
I pray for peace today as a 6th grade girl living
comfortably with my family here in the United
States. I pray for peace because I know that
there are more places of war in the world than
there are places of peace. I think we need to
pray and pray for peace until we hear only good
things in the news. Maybe then you'll hear all
of us's desperate pleas for help. So, dear God,
I pray that the children everywhere could all get
an education that they deserve. Some kids have
to stay home because schools are closed because
of violence in the streets, like in Palestine and
Israel. And now in Iraq, the children have very
little to do and they cannot go to school because
of all the fighting going on.
I've been learning that some kids here in this
country can't go to school because their parents
need a babysitter so they could go to work. Some
kids get in trouble with drugs and weapons and
they get put in jail. I think if we had more
peace in our neighborhoods these kids would not
be in jail. They would be in school. So God,
please help all of us to be peace seekers and not
war mongers. Help us to know what we have to do
to have peace everywhere. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Most merciful Father, in a world full of hate,
vengeance, moral decline, and lack of respect
for all of life, there is a bright shining hope
in your Son, Christ Jesus. Through His death and
resurrection, He overpowered the darkness and
despair produced by the great deceiver. I have a
firm belief in prayer and its power. You have
blessed America in a mighty way and allowed our
great nation to bring hope to many. As I pray
for our great nation and for the protection of
our fighting force, I also pray for peace,
knowing that you are able to bring this to pass.
Maranatha!
