Gracious and Holy God of all people... not just
some who talk and pray correctly, but all
people. Hear my prayer for peace as it joins so
many others. I cry and grieve over the violence
we commit in the name of peace. But I know that
you are the only true peace. You are the mighty
God, wonderful counselor... and Prince of
Peace. Bring your peace to the hearts of all
people, that we may find our way to dignity,
respect and compassion. You call us to love our
neighbor... But we fail to even try. So I pray
that the light of grace will be the call to
every heart... helping us find our way to you
once again. Thank you for hearing the prayers
of your children! In the name of the prince of
peace, Amen!

The WILSHIRE UNITED METHODIST WOMEN/FILIPINO
MINISTRY OF LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA remember in
prayer those people around us that have touched
our lives in so many ways. We remember our
neighbors, those in refugee camps, in homeless
shelters, in war-torn areas. We remember those
who are hungry, abused, trying to stop using
drugs. We remember those fighting racism and
those struggling to survive and support their
families. And we remember runaway children and
youth. We pray for our military soldiers who are
in their mission for peace in Iraq especially
those left behind wives to support their families.
We pledge our prayers to help renew and expand
our relationship to God and our sisters and
brothers. We pledge time to study and reflect and
to respond to the needs of others through action.
We pledge our gifts that we may share in the
global ministries of the church through UNITED
METHODIST WOMEN. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Lord, I pray for peace and for my church friend,
Curtis who has been deployed to Iraq. I pray
that Sherry (his wife) can sustain the absence of
him while she maintains a loving home for their
children. Bless and watch over all our troops
and their families while they are apart from one
another. In Your Blessed Name, Amen

Most Precious Heavenly Father, my prayer is for
peace in this world that You so lovingly
created. That all people, no matter what their
race or culture, would be able to live without
fear of persecution, war or terrorism. Open our
hearts, dear Lord, so that each and every one of
us may do our part. Lord you are creator and
sustainer of all. Help this great nation to
return to You; continue to lead and to guide us.
And, for those who are serving in our military,
protect and sustain them Lord. Replace fear with
courage, lonliness with peace and uncertainty
with your amazing love.
