Christmas in Kaunas

The Kaunas United Methodist Church in Lithuania celebrates Christmas eve with a candlelight service.

David Markey describes Christmas in Lithuania. He says, "I have a suspicion that Christians here know all too well what it means to light one lonely candle at Christmas. After all, the promise of Immanuel-- the hope that God really is with us-- is more bright, more visible, more defiant when it flickers alone against a black night."
