bring the material in the text into the local community for action and
reflection. The guide is designed for four two-hour sessions, but has
outlines for other time frames.

Gee, Martha Bettis. I Dream of a School : Mission Study on
Public Education: Youth Book with Leader’s Guide. New York: General Board of Global Ministries, The United Methodist Church,
2004. Service Center #3598, $6.00
Many young people can articulate clearly what is wrong with
their schools and what they think would make a difference. They need
tools to help them translate their own clear understanding of what they
face at school into an understanding of what others face. They need lenses
for viewing the larger issues of legislation and funding that directly
affect their education and the education of others. The aim of this study
is to give young people the perspective, the tools, and the motivation
to make a vision of quality education for all real.
