Janice Lee McLain is a missionary with the Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church assigned to the Democratic Republic of Congo, formerly Zaire, as the Area Financial Executive (AFE). Her responsibilities include oversight of all receipts and disbursements of GBGM funds for projects and personnel in the conference.

Janice shares with us her responsibilities, "As AFE I am responsible through my office for projects. I do all the related bank posting and financial reports to GBGM. I work with other mission personnel as to their housing, children's education, and personal documents. I follow-up on monies that have not been received or are unclear. A lot of communication comes through my office and I try to facilitate funds to the people."

Prior to this assignment, Janice served as the AFE for the United Methodist Church in Kenya from 2001 until June 2005 and in Liberia from 1995-2001. From 1992-93 she was a commercial skills teacher in the Volunteer Missionary Movement in Luckau Mission, Lebowa, South Africa.

Janice has been certified as a church business administrator by the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
