Brief Description of Ministry:
This is a start-up ministry of Christ United Methodist Church of Jackson, MS. We will be working with up to 12 female inmates from Central MS Correctional Facility,(CMCF) Rankin county MS. All MS women inmates are incarcerated at CMCF, about 2100 out of the total prison population of 22,000 men and women. Another 20,000 are on parole or probation. The Genesis Ministry of CUMC is a spiritually-based, structured aftercare program that is focused on transforming the hearts of these ex-offenders for Christ as we assist in their re-entry into society. It will be a residential ministry, with a structured program curriculum, such as, Bible study and spiritual mentoring, Job Partnership Program, study of the basics of Christianity, life skills training, behavior modification, restoring family relationships, a study to address addictive behavior, a study for adult children of dysfunctional familiies, financial management, etc.
