Brief Description of Ministry:
This is an offshoot of our local Walk to Emmaus program. We take 30-40 team members into local county jails for three days to do a modified Emmaus-style presentation. The benefits noted by officials have been astounding. Success rate judging by professions of faith and attitude changes are very high. We have routinely conducted baptisms in drunk tanks. About half of participating team members come from local UM churches. Our own church has 6-8 actively involved. We go into a jail about every 4-6 months.
