Brief Description of Ministry:
For eleven years I have ministred, first as a lay person and then as a part-time local pastor in the United Methodist Church to prisoners. I have (along with an United Methodist Elder) taught Disciple Bible Study (first year) twice; have given mountain dulcimer lessons to individual inmates for most of the last 11 years; and have offered a Protestant service of Holy Communion (with the cooperation and blessing of Bishop Janice Riggle Huie and her granting a special appointment that allows me to do this.) This is a men's state prison unit; the chaplain under whom I work encouraged me to qualify for a badge and status as a "Certified Religious Assistant."
