Brief Description of Ministry:	As pastor I visit the Sonnberg prison twice a month for bible study and worship with 5 to 10 English speaking prisoners, mostly African. I also meet with the social workers in the prison to discuss their concerns with work among prisoners from non-Austrian cultures. As a church we provide clothing, as well as large numbers of books and magazines in English for the prisoners. We also make Bibles available in English and French. When prisoners are released we provide temporary housing when possible and help them integrate into the Austrian social services system. We put them in contact with others who know how to manage life in Austria as essentially stateless people, and help them find jobs other than selling drugs.

Brief Description of Ministry:	I was appointed to serve as a coordinator for the prison ministry in the RUMC, and also for the Ural-Siberia-Kazakh Provisional Conference. The prison ministry of the Russian United Methodist Church started in 1991 in Ekaterinburg. In 1992 the first chapel in the prison was opened. As of today, the prison ministry of the Ural, Siberia and Kazakhstan includes, - Prison #2 (Ekaterinburg). DISCIPLE Bible studies twice a week. Worship services twice a month. Christian choir rehearsals with 25 participants, every month there is a birthday party celebration for the prisoners without relatives (30-40 prisoners each month). We also assist in job finding for those whose prison term is over. Under the initiative from the UMC the Charity Board was founded in 1995 as a coordinator of all social programs (culture, education & etc) for prisoners and their families. - The women's prison in Ekaterinburg has a weekly Bible lessons. Monthly the humanitarian aid (clothing and personal hygiene items) is given to the women. - The women's prison in Nizhny Tagil (130 km from Ekaterinburg) monthly receives humanitarian aid (clothing for the women and their children and personal hygiene items) - UMC in Tyumen is starting a weekly Bible studies in the prison #2. - UMC in Pavlodar runs a weekly bible study in the men's prison. Brief Description of Ministry:	I am currently pastoring in the "Revival" United Methodist Church in Latnaya, Russia and leading prison ministry in a high security prison in the town of Semiluki.This particular prison holds about 2000 people, it has a special tuberculosis division, Aids division (~60 people) and invalids-disabled (~100 people). I came to the administration of the prison in Semiluki in May, 2001 with the request to let me lead Bible study lessons with the prisoners. For the last three years Protestants were not allowed to work there, but I was lucky enough to persuade the director to let me in and I have been participating in this ministry for 1.5 years. I came to this specific prison because it is located close to my church. In the beginning of my ministry I asked our Bishop Rudiger Minor to allocate some funds in order to prepare a room for Bible study. We renovated one of the rooms in the prison for that purpose, and now it is called the room of psychological rehabilitation. For 1.5 years, prisoners have been meeting there to sing hymns, study Bible and listen to sermons. One of the prisoners starts to give Bible lessons himself. He wants to enter Methodist seminary to continue his theological education. He used to attend Baptist Church before getting into prison. All of the prisoners enjoy going to the lessons and begin to ask difficult theological questions. Brief Description of Ministry:	In our country those things are working like this; The state pays pastors (one from the Lutheran and one from the other churches) to work as ministers in custodies and jails. Every custody and jail has at least two ministers. In my work at my city's custody, I`m at the custody six hours a week. As I arrive the staff can tell me if there is anyone who needs to see me more than the other. The nurse is very good in knowing who is in big needs. As I walk around I use to give priority to those who are very young or/and very isolated. Once a week I talk with a group about ethics and morals. Quite a exciting time!! Now and than I also give the staff opportunity to get a chat about there problems. I have been minister in jails too. I have been among those people almost all my time as a minister.

Brief Description of Ministry:	Each week volunteers from SonRise United Methodist Church read with residents of the Youthful Offender Systems in Pueblo, Colorado. The inmate chooses a book that is appropriate for his child and reads it into a tape recorder. The tape and book are then sent to the child. Books, tapes, and supplies are provided by the local United Methodist Churches.

Brief Description of Ministry:	This is an offshoot of our local Walk to Emmaus program. We take 30-40 team members into local county jails for three days to do a modified Emmaus-style presentation. The benefits noted by officials have been astounding. Success rate judging by professions of faith and attitude changes are very high. We have routinely conducted baptisms in drunk tanks. About half of participating team members come from local UM churches. Our own church has 6-8 actively involved. We go into a jail about every 4-6 months. Brief Description of Ministry:	When a clergy person commits sexual misconduct, members of our team are appointed as advocates for victim, church, and perpetrator. Recently I appointed advocate and chaplain for a perpetrator, and will continue to visit him during his 7-10 year prison sentence (that part goes beyond the Response Team program; he is from Korean, was shunned by his Korean clergy group after having his orders stripped, and literally has no friends or visitors.)

Emphasis:	Outreach to inmates in Anne Arundel Correctional Facilities
Brief Description of Ministry:	The Annapolis District Prison Ministry Committee was established in 2001 to coordinate and support Prison Ministries in our district churches. We have put a special emphasis on working with the 1200 inmates and chaplains in the two county facilities. Discipleship I is offered at one county institution. We also are a support group for those in prison ministry: chaplains, volunteers, staff, and families of prisoners.
