     The Community Ministries Unit is the combination of seven distinct, but highly collaborative program areas:
Urban Ministries, Town & Country Ministries, Ministries With Women, Children and Families, Program On Substance Abuse and Related Violence, Communities of Shalom, Community Economic Development, and Community Developers Program, and United Methodist Voluntary Service.

     This unit resources and supports local congregations and communities in their Christian witness for justice and wholeness. High priority is placed on fostering partnerships to seek ways for persons to realize their potential as children of God through the fundamental tenets of human rights and empowerment.
