Dear Friends in Mission:
The goal of The Special Program on Substance Abuse and Related Violence (SPSARV) is to equip all levels of The United Methodist Church to continue its four century old commitment to the journey of hope, healing, deliverance and wholeness.
Bearing witness to God's love and grace, SPSARV prepares United Methodist leadership and their partners to accompany individuals, families, and communities in their journeys of hope, healing, deliverance and ultimately, wholeness. SPSARV develops faith community networks and resources that raise awareness and equip people for prevention, intervention, treatment and advocacy.
The re-launch of the Had Enough Movement for youth and young adults seeks to bring this witness to the young people in The United Methodist Church, utilizing their own ideas and leadership in their youth groups, with family, with friends, on college campuses and in their local communities. This movement will raise the voices of young Christians around the world who choose not to use alcohol and other drugs and want to help those who do. Had Enough will inform, equip and empower youth and young adults to make a difference as individuals and as part of the United Methodist global connection.
Please review the attached materials regarding the development of the youth and young adult Leadership Council for Had Enough. Please share the application and responsibilities with youth and young adults you know who would be interested in participating. Please contact Chad Bumgardner in the SPSARV office at 212-870-3699 if you have any questions regarding this exciting movement.
Sincerely,
