The Children's Fund for Christian Mission
It's a way children can learn about and make contributions to a select group of mission projects. The policy of the Children's Fund is first to educate children about mission and second to provide a way for children to give to mission beyond their local church.

Choosing Projects
Each year the General Board of Global Ministries and the General Board of Discipleship select projects. The promotion of these projects coincides with the church school year, September 1 through August 31. Projects are chosen in the United Sates and overseas. Each project ministers to children. A variety of projects is chosen to show the many ways The United Methodist Church is meeting the needs of children.

You may send your money directly to United Methodist Children's Fund for Christian Mission at the above address. Please include conferences and local church name address.

Or you may prefer to designate your gift for United Methodist Children's Fund for Christian Mission and have your local church treasurer send it to the annual conference treasurer who will then send it to Nashville.

Sending Clothing
Sending packages (even of items like school supplies) may require the recipient to pay a duty or other tax penalty, at times in excess of the value of the package. Also, government regulations often require that packages and moneys be accounted for in a specific way. Failure to follow procedures may jeopardize the ongoing work of an agency. For these reasons, when we speak of gifts to the Children's Fund, we speak only of money.

More Resources for use with children

The Children's Prayer Calendar helps elementary aged children learn about the missionaries of the General Board of Global Ministries, The United Methodist Church.

The calendar helps boys and girls learn how they can be in mission around the world through PRAYER. The calendar lists the names of the children of our mission personnel and children who use the calendar are encouraged to pray for these missionary children.

The calendar also gives ideas for exploring mission at home and in church school. At home, for example, children are asked to find the different countries where children are living on a world map. They also can use their computers to find a bio about the missionary parents. In church, children can use the calendar to compile reports on the various projects that are highlighted.

Also, the calendar gives a list of month by month ideas for children to do so they will be in mission where they are: learn Bible verses, watch the news and see how children are hurting; be an angel for a day and help out an older person.

Order the calendar from: The Service Center, General Board of Global Ministries, 7820 Reading Road, Caller No. 1800, Cincinnati, OH 45222-1800. $5.00 for a package of 5, $1.25 for a single copy.
