Seeking candidates for the position of
GENERAL SECRETARY

Requirements

• Membership in The United Methodist Church
• PhD. (or equivalent), preferably in the fields of international affairs, theology, and/or human relations
• Minimum of ten years' experience with a mission institution or organization, working with local, state, city or regional church or development agencies
• Inter-cultural experience as a supervisor or administrator
• A clear understanding of financial administration and budget development
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to speak English and at least two other languages

The qualified individual for this significant position of leadership with the denomination's mission agency will possess an understanding of the missionary movement and the history of mission in Protestantism in general, and in The United Methodist Church in particular. Effective analytical skills and flexibility in style are also highly desirable qualities.
