[During June and July, 1998, the General Board of Global Ministries led a group of 21 students from United Methodist-related colleges and universities in singing global choral music in the Baltic States and Russia. The participants wrote statements commenting on their experiences. Following is one such statement.]
. . . I will never forget the warm smiling faces, the small girl whose sweet singing made me cry on a Sunday morning, the kind face of the pastor of a small congregation in Haapsalu, or the congregation in Kaunas who sang exuberantly for us. And I will never forget the love and energy God showed through the music we sang. |

The power and love of God were evident and ever present in the songs
we sang, the people we met, and the fellowship we shared with each
other. Music moved us all and showed our love for God to all the people.
